Stand Tall: A how-to on tall valve covers
As we make our Mustangs go faster we make changes to the valvetrain that at some point necessitate taller than stock valve covers to fit. Some like the "racy" look of taller valve covers but to the hard core enthusiast they serve a bigger purpose. The most common reason to use tall valve covers is to be able to fit aftermarket roller rockers and valvetrain stabilizers more commonly known as stud girdles. However, before you decide to simply bolt on a set of those polished, tall, Motorsport val...

[03/30/2001] Site problems, chat room down, and what's going on due to service outage.

By: -

Unfortunately, our secondary web server is now offline. The bulk of MustangWorks.com and FunFord.com runs on our primary dedicated Web server, which we have running on a very large hosting service. This server is a Unix based solution. We also have a second dedicated server, which is a Win2K server and operates our Cold Fusion / SQL Server based application and pages, as well as, our *chat server* and miscellaneous other things.

Yesterday, due to our connection provider going outs of business (with little notice) under chapter 11, their entire network was simply switched off. This means our connection no longer functions and there is nothing we can do about it except secure a new line installation and service through a different provider. Therefore, we have arranged to have a new line installed through a new vendor, but we are told it will take from 25 to 45 days for this to take place and become operational. A bit ridiculous, but that''s what they say it takes.

Simply put, we''re hosed. We set-up as many things from the secondary server as possible on our main server so they will continue to be available. Unfortunately, our dedicated chat server is down because it runs on the secondary server and since it is Windows based software it can''t be run on the Unix server. We will try to find another solution, at least temporarily, to get the chat room back up and going for everyone.
