Stand Tall: A how-to on tall valve covers
As we make our Mustangs go faster we make changes to the valvetrain that at some point necessitate taller than stock valve covers to fit. Some like the "racy" look of taller valve covers but to the hard core enthusiast they serve a bigger purpose. The most common reason to use tall valve covers is to be able to fit aftermarket roller rockers and valvetrain stabilizers more commonly known as stud girdles. [03/04/2002] NMRA issues statement on Grebeck tragedy: "Steve Grebeck, a fallen leader to us all".

By: -

It is with great sorrow that we learned that street legal legend and superstar Steve Grebeck passed away this weekend. Steve was not only a superstar, but an inspiration and example for all of us in his dedication toward the sport that he loved so dearly.

Steve will be missed terribly by all those around him, his fellow racers and family. He leaves a legacy in street legal drag racing of dominating performances, while always being there to lend a helping hand to a fellow competitor in the heat of battle.

Grebeck, in his first year of NMRA Pro 5.0 competition, set both ends of the Pro 5.0 record books, which he currently still holds, and won two NMRA national events at Maple Grove and Bowling Green. Grebeck was a world-class chassis builder who also built race cars for the likes of Bill Glidden and Pat Musi.

During next weekend''s NMRA opener at Bradenton Motorsports Park, we promise that we will do our best to provide the safest track conditions and fire emergency services possible. In honor of Steve Grebeck and his family, all Pro 5.0 drivers will be asked to wear a commemorative sticker for the duration of the 2002 racing season.

God speed Steve,
James Lawrence & Charlie Harmon
